Mom and Dad

Look at this picture – two love birds that are toys, squishy and soft. They represent my parents, do you want to know why?

Eighteen years and a half ago, a small little baby was born. She was inside her mom’s tummy for almost nine months, but she was excited to see the world that’s why she got out earlier because she was one stubborn girl. That was me, and up to now I know to myself I am still stubborn at times. But slowly, I am growing up.

Without mom and dad that wouldn’t be possible. I know they married very young but even so, I look up to them for their fighting spirit especially mom. Even so, that dad doesn’t have a job now, he doesn’t fail to be a dad by making us laugh during bad times and when he yells at me because I’m a stubborn little girl for not telling them I went to the mall, I do that random times, yeah. Even if mom is tired everyday from work, she manages to cook dinner at its best and put a smile on her face that when you look at her, you’ll think “everything will be okay” even if the world seems unfair.

Without these two amazing people, I wouldn’t be here in the first place – of course aside from God’s power. These two people molded me as I am right now. They help me become me, they took care of me with great love even if it was hard at first because they were both just mere teenagers who were lost but look at them now – they’re a parent of a soon-to-be-grown-up girl.

I want to them to know how thankful I am, and you reading this. I want everyone to know that even if I am not much of a talker, even if I am an only child as you all know, I may be spoiled and terrible at times but I need you to know – I love my parents to the deepest. They are my treasure, I can’t imagine life without them because I know they are my wings. I won’t be able to fly without them. I want to be with them until such time I can pay back for all the happiness, the lessons and for all the support they give me not just for the year that passed but for all of my life.

My parents, they cannot be compared to gold. I love my mom for hugging me tight when I am in tears, and I love my dad for wishing me God bless everyday I go to school. I cannot imagine life without them and so I want the world to know, I am thankful for you mom, and so with you dad.

And then someday, I assure to you I will try my best to bring back all the love and care. At the same time, in the future when I will have my own family I will always remember my parents and all the things they’ve done for me even if they were the days that I was the stubborn girl I kept on talking about, or that little girl that was once just the size of a shoe box, once in my mom’s tummy and taken by my dad’s hands.

Squishy and soft my mom and dad might be one of those parents who are very tight when it comes to rules, but when I’m down they’re there and they comfort me. They’re there endlessly, and I could not ask for more when I’m in tears for all I need is a good hug from my  two most important people in the world. And these two amazing people, they taught me that in life we make mistakes but we become better people through those mistakes and we become stronger.
